Christine Kay Bergmann
Thanks to Christine's artwork, our inaugural set of note cards has been a popular item. The first order sold out in just a few weeks and more are now available. The Pilot Club of Manhattan is proud to use Christine's art for this first set of note cards.
Christine is a 19-year-old woman with a form of Autism called Asperger's Syndrome. She enjoys painting, writing, singing and music.
She was 18 years old when she painted the untitled artwork selected for the notecard. "I like to name my painting style (Abstract from the Soul). I paint for the purpose of self-expression and communication."
Having her artwork selected showed Christine the value of her talents. "I have gone half of my life thinking I had no purpose, but the Pilot Club has changed that with this art contest. I now know I can bring joy through my art. I now have a reason to say people are full of kindness. I hope the children like me can also improve their life."
A portion of the funds raised from the sale of these notecards will go toward funding the Autism Spectrum Disorders Workshop hosted annually by the Pilot Club of Manhattan.
Thank you Christine! Thank you also to her parents, Robert and Ruth, for helping the Pilot Club in our endeavor to support families affected by autism.
